We have decided to start raising a specific line to work as ESA rats for veterans. One of us is a veteran and will be helping to hand raise this specific line. We will be choosing a baby from the litter in the line to start working as an ESA once they are old enough to leave mom. This specific line has shown us that the babies will have the ideal temperament to provide the service needed and also be a wonderful companion. They will experience being out in public and using the bonding scarf technique so they stay close by to offer their support.
Each rat is free to a veteran who can offer some form of military ID such as dog tags or ID etc (SSN and other sensitive info blurred) and has a need for an ESA and the ability to house and care for one. A buddy sibling rat will also be paired with them to keep them company when you're not available as they're social creatures.
